Fees for consultations
Australian students
Students who are currently enrolled at QUT and who have a current Medicare Card are able to seen and be "bulkbilled" through Medicare.
International students
International students who are currently enrolled at QUT are billed directly to their Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Norwegian and Swedish students are expected to pay for their consultation on the same day and then claim reimbursement from their government.
Kelvin Grove Urban Village
If you live or work in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village you are welcome to use the Health Services Medical Centre. You will be privately billed at the same rate as QUT staff for doctor consultations, if you hold a health care card you will be bulk billed.
QUT staff
Staff at QUT will be required to pay a private fee on the day of consultation. EFTPOS facilities are available.For staff who do not hold a current student card or current Health Care card, the fee structure will be as follows:
Patients are charged a fee for their consultation, and can claim back most of this fee from Medicare.
All staff now have the option for the Health Services to lodge their claim to Medicare at the time of payment. Staff need only to have their BSB and Account Number for the claim to be processed. The refund is deposited directly into their account in approximately 48 hours.
To lodge a Medicare Claim form, present your receipt at a Medicare office (eg nearest one is Shop 225, Level 2, Myer Centre, Queen Street Mall, 91 Queen St Brisbane), or post your completed Medicare claim form, together with the original receipt, to Medicare.
Health Services reception staff can also post your claim form to Medicare.
